Penang Planespotting #009 - 17 September 2016 - Part 4

Here's Part 4

We really have lots of AirAsia aircraft here in Penang.

AirAsia A320-216 (9M-AJX)

9M-AJH Departing

We then have the matte looking Jetstar.

Jetstar A320-232 (9V-JSE)

Funny how our National Carrier has so few flights in and out of Penang International.

The sole MH jet departing

Malindo ATR72-600 (9M-LMG)

And here comes the (Taiwanese) Queen

Eva Air Cargo B747-45EF (B-16482)

Up next is Air Asia's 100th Awesome Plane

AirAsia A320-216 (9M-AQH)

And we have a land vehicle rolling down runway 22.

MAB Toyota Hilux (WXD 7589)
-For the fun of it-

Lion Air B737-9GP(ER) (PK-LFT)

The last widebody to arrive from Hong Kong operating KA633

Dragonair A330-342 (B-HLG)

Can you spot something out of the ordinary below?

Just as I was about to pack, one distinctive sound was heard. A helicopter from Iskandar Waterfront

Eurocopter EC-155B1 (9M-DBI)

With a sleek Mercedes standing by

And it was thanks to that I had the opportunity to get the next series of shots.

Malaysia Airlines B737-8FZ (9M-MLL)

Firefly AR72-500 (9M-FYD)

Very Very long session, but truly worth it.

Penang Planespotting #009 - 17 September 2016 - Part 1

Continuing from Session #008. This session will have many many many parts.

Starting off, we have Malindo

Malindo ATR72-600 (9M-LMO)

Then we have the two morning international flights. One to Thailand and the other to Hong Kong though the latter had to wait for an arrival.

Thai Smile A320-232 (HS-TXS)

AirAsia A320-216 (9M-AJX)

We have biologicals too. Here we have a stork coming in for landing on the parallel waterway (river).

Stork (A-BIRD)

Dragonair A330-343 (B-HWM)

Firefly ATR72-500 (9M-FYD)

Rubber burning. This one's from Hong Kong. They will usually arrive in the morning and depart later in the evening.

Air HongKong A300F4-605R (B-LDF)

AJX departing from Bravo

LDF taxiing to the cargo apron

It is really great to have high AirAsia traffic into Penang. For one, you get to see new jets like the A320NEO. You also get the special schemed ones. This new one bears the "AirAsia Foundation" livery.

Penang Planespotting #007 - 06 August 2016 - Part 3

After the NEO commercial break, here's part 007 once again. Mostly short-haul aircraft here, ATRs, 737s and 320s before ending with a splash.

Malindo ATR72-600 (9M-LMG)

Malindo just lining up as FedEx crosses the runway

Malaysia Airlines B737-8H6 (9M-MXH)

Tigerair A320-232 (9V-TAS)

AirAsia A320-216 (9M-AHG) - Ninetology

Sriwijaya Air B737-8Q8 (PK-CMI)

I've always liked seeing Jetstar aircraft, with matte finishing with grey colours, somewhat resembling a military aircraft.

Jetstar A320-232 (9V-JSQ)

Reminding me of Rossiya's livery

Aaannnndddd it stared to rain after this. Might as wel use this opportunity to get the next shot. Dragonair A330-342 (B-LAA).

Drying the runway

A great final shot indeed. 2 months worth of spotting photos are still ready and waiting.

Stay tuned.
